Puzzle Combat is a Match 3 game. It is developed by Small Giant Games. It was published for Android devices in February 2020 and for iOS devices in March 2021.

This is a military action game which combines match 3 duels and base building. In Puzzle Combat you play as a commander of the Falcon Force. You have been tasked with a top secret mission to destroy the Evil Dread Army. In order to fight them, you need to create your own base and army. Summon new heroes and weapons. Train the heroes and upgrade them. You have to upgrade your base and your weapons too. To keep your base and army self sustaining, you need to farm and produce raw materials.

There are 3 main modes in this game. Story, Spec Ops and Raids. In Story, you battle against the Dread army. In Spec Ops, you battle for specific rewards at the end of the game. In Raid mode you raid other online players' watchtowers by battling against their teams 1 on 1. You will receive food, metal and trophies when you win these battles.

As mentioned earlier, you battle your enemies by playing match 3 games. But, these match 3 games are not your typical match 3 games. The members of your team will be placed at the bottom of the match 3 game board and the enemy team will be placed at the top. Each member has a color associated to them. Every time you match 3 or more tiles of a given color, their weapon will keep on loading. Once their weapon is fully loaded, you click on their image to make a special attack on the enemy. You can also tap and select on which enemy you want to attack.

Similarly, every time you make a match 3, you will be able to make a minor attacks on the enemy members standing right above of the tiles you match.

The controls in this game are a little bit complicated than your usual match 3 games. Tap and drag a tile to make match 3. Double tap to activate boosters. Tap on the image of an enemy to select it for a special attack from your team member. Once your team healer is loaded, tap on him to heal your team members.

Puzzle Combat is a very interesting match 3 game. It is a next level game in the world of match 3 games.
